Bournemouth Explorers International 2026

Every few years Bournemouth Explorers aim to run an International camp. This is in addtion to World Scout Jamborees. Our next International is set for Hungary in 2026 are you available?

Eligibility born between: 29th August 2008 to 18th August 2012 (and active in Explorers)

The Basics

When are we going?

18th to 29th August 2026

Where are we going

Hungary – Lake Balaton about 85 miles south west of Budapest

Who can go?

Anyone active in Scouts and will be aged between 14-18 at time of travel. Eligibility born between: 29th August 2008 to 18th August 2012 (and active in Explorers)

Will we need insurance?

Details are being confirmed and finalised but anticipate a minor amount to be paid to top up what is normally covered by the Scout Associations insurance Unity.

Costs / Payments

How much is it?

We are still to finalise things but current budgetted cost is set at £950 per person and includes all costs (Travel, Accomodation, Transfers and Food) for the trip.

How do we pay?

We will be setting up a payment schedule to a nominated account shortly payments will not be via OSM but via Standing Order or one off payments.

Affordability

Scout camps should be available to all, with that said we know this is an expensive camp and we have access to funds that can assist. If you want to go please contact us and we will see what we can do to assist.

Travel

Trains Planes and Automobiles

We are planning on using public transport to get out to Hungary details are due soon.

Can I make my own way there

Our pricing will be based on a group booking so may not be able to offer discount on the cost of the trip but speak to us and will see what we can do

Accomodation

Where are we sleeping

We are camping details to be confirmed but you will be in a tent for the duration of the camp.

How are you getting equipment to site

This is currently being looked into we have a couple of options which are being explored

Food

Self Catering

We will be buying and cooking food whilst out there onsite with equipment.

I have allergies / intolerances / dietary requirements

We will work with you to make sure we can cater for your requirements please make sure your OSM details are up to date.

Kit

Personal Kit

A full kitlist will be made availble once we have confirmed activities. We will have a camp polo shirt and possibly activity shirt for the camp.
